Many of you already know this, but here is a recap: The Friday before Memorial Day, we got a wonderful surprise from Major Dad. He showed up at the house for a 2 week R & R leave! No one in the family knew he was coming home...kudos to our friends Peter and Jessie for keeping the secret and helping to pull off this surprise. As you can imagine, it's been Daddy 24/7 since he got home.
With that said, you can imagine what the past 2 weeks have been like in our household. We've been soaking up the Daddy time. It has been a great (almost) 2 weeks, but the major activity of the leave was our mini vacation to The Great Wolf Lodge in Concord, NC. If you've never heard of it, it is a hotel with an indoor water park. You must be a guest at the hotel to have access to the waterpark. It is totally kid friendly, from the cute themed room we had to the nightly story time where all the kids come down to the lobby in their PJs for a bedtime story. We had a GREAT time, and look forward to going back (maybe even to a different location). 'Retta probably gave the best review of the vacation: as we were walking out of the lobby she asked, "Where are we going?" We answered, "We're going home!" She reacted...bursting into tears, "But I don't want to go home." she cried over and over. It would have been sad had it not been so funny to experience.
I could tell you pages and pages of stories about 'Retta and Elizabeth, but I'll just post some pics of our trip.

What an amazing surprise! So happy to hear that Mark is home for a little while. Surely the 2 weeks are passing by too quickly. Looks like an fun vacation!
